SPECIALIZED FILMS ANSWERS QUESTIONS:
We are glad to provide technical documents, test data, and white papers discussing the science behind the following answers to these common questions about window films. Here are the short answers to 5 of our most commonly asked questions.
1- WHAT DO SPECIALIZED WINDOW FILMS DO?
Virtually clear films designed to filter unwanted portions of the sun’s energy.
Specialized Window Films will:
- Reject up to 91% of the Total Solar Energy
- Block over 99% of Ultraviolet Radiation
- Eliminate Harsh Glare – Open Your Blinds / Take Off Sunglasses
- Pays For Itself many times over during the lifetime warranty period
- Increases Privacy Levels
- Makes Glass Safer – Ask about intruder deterrent films
- Lower your Carbon Footprint – Real Sustainability
- Lower Utility Consumption
2- WILL WINDOW FILM REALLY STOP FADING?
Specialized Window Films will eliminate or greatly reduce the 3 biggest factors that cause fading in Colorado. #1- UV Radiation, #2- Excessive Heat Gain (BTU) and #3- Harsh Visible Light (VLT). There are a number of other factors that contribute to fading. For example: The color of dyes and photographs lose their luster and brilliance with the passing of time. Leather and cabinetry as well as all wood can dry out in Colorado’s arid climate. During an in-home consultation, we’ll make recommendations and offer our expertise regarding avoiding sun damage to your furnishings while considering your unique circumstances, at no charge.
3- WILL MY WINDOW FILM BE INSTALLED ON THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?
Most films are applied to the interior of the window. Occasionally circumstances may require an exterior application such as in the event of restricted access to the interior surface. Also, if safety and security films are used, they may be required on either side of the glass.
4- ARE SPECIALIZED WINDOW FILMS SAFE FOR MY WINDOWS?
Yes. Our window films have been designed for application to any window. The most common windows in use are double pane. During our consultation, we will use meters to assess the type of glass and any coatings (e.g., Low-E) in your windows. We will always recommend the proper films for your benefit.
5- HOW WILL MY HOUSE PLANTS BE AFFECTED?
Customers all commented positively regarding their indoor plants according to a survey I personally conducted. In most cases, plants and flowers were doing better than before specialized window films were installed! Many replied that their plants were no longer getting over heated or burned from the intense sun but are now happy with the warm filtered light.
